The first weekend of August 2022, I made a trip to Laredo, Texas for this year's Bronco and Palomino League World Series. I won't go too much into the trip's details, so this post would be mostly about the flights back and forth.
Third day of my 2022 Independence Day trip. The theme of this trip so far had been rocks, so for this last day I would visit Palisades Interstate Park, hike its Giant Stairs trail before driving back home.
Second day of my 2022 Independence Day trip, I spent the day hiking Breakneck Ridge, a popular hiking route on the Hudson River, with probably the best scrambling sections in the region.
For 2022's Independence Day, I made a 3-day trip to the Hudson Valley area of New York State for some outdoor activities. Weather was great and I had a good time among New Yorks' diverse landscape, a fresh departure from the Blue Ridge Mountains in my backyards.
My flights back home to Washington DC after meeting some friends in Los Angeles, with untimely weather causing a diversion and some not-too-pleasant experiences.
June 2022, a small group of my friends decided to hold an informal class reunion in the west coast, driving down California’s famous coastal highway before having some parties in Los Angeles. This would be my outbound flight segments from Washington DC to San Jose.
The fourth and last day of my 2022 Memorial Day weekend trip. I would be driving from the town of Wytheville, Virginia back to my home near Washington DC. With me in no hurry for the day, I would take the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, and hike Sharp Top Mountain along the way.
The third day of my 2022 Memorial Day weekend trip. I would be doing a long day hike in Virginia’s Grayson Highlands State Park and the nearby Jefferson National Forest, featuring Mount Rogers as Virginia’s highest elevation point, some fun on the rocks along Wilburn Ridge, and a combination of forests and open meadows which were not a common sight in Virginia. Unfortunately, just like the previous two days, I still had to battle with annoying mud for portions of the hike.
The second day of my 2022 Memorial Day weekend trip. After waking up in Blacksburg, I would try out more hiking trails in the towns nearby, most notably Angel's Rest Trail in Pearisburg.
During the Memorial Day weekend last year, I hiked McAfee Knob and Dragon’s Tooth trails near Roanoke, Virginia, which I really enjoyed. So this year, I felt it’s only appropriate for me to finish the remainder of Virginia’s Triple Crown, Tinker Cliffs. While the views were spectacular, rain and muddy trails made it a rather disappointing trip.
